Steve Arachnid (Horror)
Steve Arachnid photograph

Steve is a horror writer and wants a website that can covey this image and emotion. Most of the things Steve wants on his website are static and they rarely, if ever, change. He wants to be able to simply add a new book or event (e.g. book signing, reading, conference appearance) without a lot of effort and time.

He's worked with computers for a while and he knows the basics of using Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac programs.

Steve's Website

Steve's website is a "home grown" website created using a popular website building program Microsoft FrontPage 2003. The website contains the following basic pages that all websites should have:

  • Home, attracts attention, provides key information, and entices the visitor to explore the site.
  • Books, contains information on Steve's books that are currently available for sale including links to a point of purchase.
  • About Steve, contains Steve's professional biography. Notice that it does not contain personal information that he wouldn't want everyone to know.
  • Events, let Steve's fans know about book signings, personal apprearances, conferences etc.
  • Contact Us, tells visitors how they can get in touch with Steve, (or his agent, publicist, publisher, etc.)
  • Links, help in two ways. First they let visitors find the websites of Steve's professional associates and second they can help search engines find Steve's website through connections he gets back from the sites he links to.

See Steve's Website in a new page or tab.

FrontPage is no longer available, it has been replaced by Microsoft Expression Web, but the general techniques are the same. In addition to these Microsoft programs, there are a number of website development programs you can buy, and many more are provided by your web hosting provider. The following resources can give you some additional information.

Steve's Books

Like all of our authors, Steve is a fictitious character and you can't really buy his books, but just for fun we thought we'd display some in a fictitious bookstore, click on a cover to see... because, of course, you will want to have real links to your works.
