Wendy is using a Flash™ animation in order to provide interesting interactive activities for younger visitors.  Best practice would be for Wendy to provide an option that would allow the visitor to bypass the flash animation and use non-animated pages.  (This allows for visitors on lower speed connections to have an equally enjoyable visit.)  Note that even with the use of an animation engine, the key informational components (home, books, about, contact, and links) are all present.
